Chemometrics is a concept not a statistical method!

The development of analytical instrumentation .....

Increased computer capacity .......
.....have simplified the collection of huge amounts of data.
In order to analyse these complex multivariate systems 
efficient, reliable and robust statistical methods are needed 
(experimental design & multivariate analysis).

The need to variate analysis of multivariate data is that to avoid risk for random correlations.
