What is Chemometrics ?

The information aspect in the study of complex systems
It is the science of extracting information from chemical systems by data-driven means. It is a highly interfacial discipline, using methods frequently employed in core data-analytic disciplines such as multivariate statistics, applied mathematics, and computer science, in order to address problems in chemistry, biochemistry and chemical engineering. In this way, it mirrors several other interfacial ‘-metrics’ such as psychometrics and econometrics(Wikipedia)
Chemometrics is a discipline within Chemistry, which allows extracting chemically relevant information via experiment optimization, data processing, calibration, quality control and organisation of the analytical process. The need for chemometrics and its tools can be observed in many branches of chemistry and other life sciences, where data interpretation is of a great interest(sources)
It is a concept not a statistical method
