Introduction

Mass Spectrometry system:
A chromatogram provides information about the complexity, quantity(peak height and peak areas), and identity (retention parameters). The retention parameters are suspected because many components in a sample may have the same retention times under the experimental conditions. MS is limited by difficulty to extract quantitative information from signals and the requirement of  pure samples.
A mass spectrometer draws a mass spectrum that is based on Mass to charge ratio of ions from ionized molecules. The abundance of ions is measured corresponding to the electric current caused by ions.
During the ionization process, molecules or ions are fragmented, and these fragments provide useful information about the characteristic of bond order of the molecular parent's structure.
