p Values

A p values is an estimate of the probability that a particular result, or a result more extreme than the result observed, coul have occurred by chane, if the null hypothesis is true.

in short, p value is a measure of the credibility of the null hypothesis.
When something is very unlikely to have occurred by chance, we say that it is statistically significant, p <0.001
